My husband and I have worked hard our entire lives. Now that we’re in our sixties and the kids are all moved out and doing their own things, we’ve made the decision that it’s time to treat ourselves. Neither of us have ever come from well-off families. Our houses while growing up were nothing special. Our family home as adults was definitely more on the nicer side of things, but things weren’t always up to scratch as we wanted it. I suppose that’s the nature of it when you have a house with four children growing up.
Neither my family nor my husband’s family came from much money. The money my husband and I have accumulated over the years has been from our business. It was a slow start, but the last fifteen years have definitely put us in a better financial position. We’re treating these next few decades as ‘our years’. We want to take the opportunity to achieve everything we’ve wanted to achieve in our lives. One of them being owning a luxury property on the Mornington Peninsula. This has been something we’ve wanted to do for a long time but it has never been possible until now.
We’ve been speaking to trusted building companies in the Mornington Peninsula area to receive a few different quotes for this project. As we’ve never built a home before, we will need a lot of guidance and a company who is happy to take the reins. We do have a few rough ideas for designs and styles, but we’re very much open to suggestions from the building designer.
Tomorrow we will be speaking with some luxury residential developers who have much experience designing and developing many of the homes on the Mornington Peninsula. The most exciting thing about this whole project is that one day it will be done, and we’ll finally be living in our dream home. I’ve always wanted a home that could overlook a beach, but I thought it’d never be possible. I guess dreams like these do come true.
